Stephen Silver course #3

This week lesson was about some individual features like hands, eyes, etc...It was a really good exercice.

I'll do more of these in the future, I won't probably post them anymore because they're basically studies, but I have to admit that after the frustration that you can get drawing hands for example, and even if the result isn't brilliant, it gets really fun, and it's what drawing should always be...FUN !

Stephen Silver course #2

Hi Guys !
For this third assignment I had to develop one of my Mr. Jeckyll and one of my Mr. Hyde and the second exercice was to draw the man on the picture the best that I could and then put the picture and my drawing away and do few caricactures of him.

Stephen Silver course

I've recently gone into the Stephen Silver character design course at schoolism, I have thought about it for months and I'm finaly going for it. I am mainly doing it because I'v never had proper drawing lessons ( I'm more a cg, technical guy ) and also because Gillian Reid, a friend and good artist, told me to just go for it after she did the course.

This is assignment number 2, I had to design a new concept based on Mr jekyll and Mr Hyde and silhouette them.

My characters are Marvin and Jackie, Marvin is a geeky american nerd about 20 years old in 1980, is one of those rare guys in that time who really is into computers and think you can do anything with one, except beeing successful with ladies and good looking. After a lot of research he found that he could, by wearing a noodle bowl converted in a super brain convertor 2.0, plug himself in a computer and become jackie the party and handsome guy who he always wanted to be !...deep right ?!

I have now to choose one silouhette for each characters to develop them in the next lessons.
If you guys have any ideas, please be my guest and comment.

See ya !

Showreel 2011

Now that Grenadine et mentalo is on T.V I can finally post my showreel , enfin !
There's not everything I wanted in it but I didn't want it to be really long...
Hope you guys will enjoy it !

I'm currently having a good time at Luxanimation, the production started really well I draw everydays, it is so pleasant, I'll move out ( again ) near the studio so probably have spare time to do 3D animation because I've been so lazy recently !

A+ !

Off to Luxembourg for few months or more !

As I said few posts ago, I got a job in Luxembourg in Luxanimation ( yeah, even the major milk company is called Luxmilk....clever isn't it? ), I'm not sure if I can say much about the production on internet so let's just say it's in 2D and on Toonboom.

I'll post as soon as I have access to an internet connection.

See ya !

I had new books for my birthday ! WOOT !

It's all in the title ! If you don't know maya and a bit new to cg animation or you just an animator used to maya and want to find some tips and new knowledge on how make your workflow more efficient, this book is for you !!

How to cheat in Maya 2010

If you love to draw and feel lost and wanna spend time to give directions, forces and goals to your drawings and make them more expressive just GO BUY IT, there's nothing else to say except it's THE book to have in your library if you are into animation or just drawings.

Mike Mattesi

I haven't had the time to put my nose into this one but I sure let you know how good it'll be in a new post.

Grenadine et Mentalo !

I found some videos of the TV shows I've worked on for more or less 6 months at picture factory, it'll be aired on September on TF1.
I've learned so much on 2D animation and Toon boom. The production was very friendly and, rare thing in the animation industry, had quite and peaceful moments,...good job Macky !

I hope kids will enjoy it and you too guys, don't hesitate to let me know what you think about ! :)
